Megan Bresnahan (she/her) is a post-confessional poet from rural Virginia whose work explores Appalachian landscapes, coming of age, mental health, the performance of gender, and addiction. She earned a BA as part of the Area Program in Poetry Writing from the University of Virginia where she studied under Rita Dove, Charles Wright, Greg Orr, and Lisa Russ Spaar. Recently, she left the corporate world where she worked as a Senior Product Manager, leading cross-functional engineering teams to build products used by hundreds of thousands of users. She now pursues writing full time although she occasionally does consulting if you ask very nicely and have interesting problems. She is applying to MFA programs this fall (for Fall 2027 admittance) and will attend the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference in August 2026.

Her poems appear in Thimble, Rust & Moth, Magma Poetry, and elsewhere.
